Here is another unusual flower I saw last summer, it is a white lilly (Nymphaea Lotus), I found it along the dark side a lake where there was good shade. Very commonly you see the yellow lilly but this was the first time, at least up here, seeing the white lilly. It is very fragrant, unfortunately this was the only good picture of many I took, the sun in the other pictures was on the flower overexposing the pictures. I was reading that there is many varieties of this species and some are very colorful and are used extensively in water gardens.
My sweetie and I dug our heels in the sand for a day at Cannon Beach and enjoyed warm weather (only an Alaskan would say it was warm). The only other people we saw were two young boys and their mother, the boys were playing in the sand. I asked "you seem to be the only ones down here today? The mother replied, "yes strange... We're from Alaska and it seems warm to us". I had to laugh and said "so are we".
